With the release of the new ES9039 chip lineup, the folks at SMSL immediately set about updating all of their most popular solutions. Including, of course, the much-talked-about SMSL D-6 DAC. Only now they have installed the newest and most modern ES9039Q2M converter, the top XMOS solution on USB and instead of the questionable TRS outputs - a classic pair of balanced XLR. Otherwise, everything remains unchanged: bluetooth chip with AptX HD and LDAC codecs, remote control, a large, readable display, the ability to correct jitter and change digital filters, as well as support for MQA to CD level. In other words, the D-6s is, as they say, pumped up to the max.
