Unlike Shanling, where the bluetooth DAC was made on the basis of their own audio player, FiiO went a slightly different way, pumping their last flagship to the maximum: BTR5. The new revision received the 2021 index, and with it two of the latest ESS converters, a flagship bluetooth module and USB XMOS XUF208. What's more, we've got automatic wired connection detection where the DAC can directly handle PCM in Hi-Res, DSD and MQA formats. The branded application has also changed, now it just has a bunch of fine-tuning hardware, full support for headsets, 9 hours of operation on the built-in battery and, of course, in addition to the usual 3.5, also a 2.5 mm balanced output with an output power of up to 240 mW at 32 ohm load. Believe me, this is a very serious application for a mobile device.
